Front cd cover from album 'Escalate' by Mark DuBerryApart from current and recent projects, Mark DuBerry produced an earlier CD entitled 'Escalate' which is a compilation of pieces written and recorded over a 10 year period from 1990 to 2000. The style of the music ranges from folk-rock to jazz-fusion with some pieces for jazz 'big-band'. They were recorded onto either 4-track tape or 4-track digital, depending on the vintage! Midi instruments were used throughout, especially for the 'big band' tracks, along with acoustic and electric guitars. A sitar is used on one of the tracks, 'Something In The Night High'.

The first track, 'Freefall', won an award of merit in the Unisong International Song Contest in 1998. 'Digital' was composed specifically for a jazz ensemble in Dublin dedicated to performing original works by Irish composers. The version recorded on this cd is the 'midi' one.

The full track list follows along with music samples from all tracks as both MP3 (for fast internet connections) and RealAudio (for slower, dial-up connections). See the Order CD page for details on how to acquire this album.
